Five successful candidates to IDA Instructors ITC ,Estartit 27 june to 04 july 2010

A one week IDA Instructors ITC took place in Estartit (Spain) starting on the 27th of june. It was held in French language for five Belgian IDA Instructors candidates. Four of them presented as IDA 2* Instructors candidates and one as IDA 1* Instructor candidate. They spent a very busy week with not only eleven “exercises-dives”, but also presenting some “referat”, giving briefing to divers, leading and evaluating exercises for divers, rescue and sea-swimming,…etc…

The “Stage d’évaluation” was lead by Francis COLLARD – IDA Examiner and Frédéric COLLARD IDA 3*** Instructor (the Chief Instructor of our Diving School), both from an IDA base in Belgium : “Les Marmottes et Castors Palmés”

Those 6 days brought a final evaluation to more than six months of tremendous preparation and careful formation. The five candidates fulfilled successfully the many practical exercises, theoretical presentations and tests, required by the IDA Standards.

Three Divers of the club, candidates as 1, 2 and 3 stars divers, came along with us, to give the opportunity to the Instructors candidates to make the exercises and evaluations in “true life”.

Thanks to a nice sunny weather, but also to the diving boats, installations and compressors of the “Sirena Diving Center”, this ITC was successful and leaves to the candidates a very motivating “souvenir”. The dives took place in the nice diving sites of Medes Islands and on the rocky coast to the north of Estartit. Not to forget the accommodation and good catering of the “Flamingo” hotel, which put also at our disposal a meeting room, for lectures, examinations and briefings.
